Where Were You In '42?

I don't know about you, but I get discouraged when I see so many teenagers getting in trouble and then getting attention for their exploits. So when a group of teenagers break the norm and show good character I want to recognize them, and this week, you can help me do that.

For 13 years now Pine Tree High School students have been hosting a good old World War Two USO show called, "Where Were You In '42?" The students organize and produce the show from top to bottom it features music, dancing and skits from the 1940's.

This project teaches our teens first hand an important part of our history. It's about the "Greatest Generation" that created the cultural characteristics which many of us still hold dear today. Now, here's the best part. The event raises money for the Heritage House Senior Citizen Center. It's this Friday and Saturday night at First Christian Church in Longview.

You can learn more about it by going to KLTV.com and click the community section and then A Better East Texas. No doubt these kids, the character they represent and the money you help them raise will make this A Better East Texas.
