A report all parents and their high school students need to watch. KLTV has been given an exclusive opportunity to make sure every East Texas child has the chance to get a higher education. Every year in Texas, billions of dollars are available to pay for college, even free money, but surprisingly most of it goes unclaimed. You and your children can access money for a college education.
You may think it seems too good to be true, but in reality, the money is there for the taking. Did you know that over 4 billion dollars are available to you and your children to pay for college in the form of grants, scholarships, work study programs, low interest loans, and more? Most of that money is left on the table, available but never taken advantage of. Most people just don't know how to apply for it.
KLTV is aiming to change that. We want to make sure every parent in East Texas has the opportunity to get financial aid to send their child to college, community college, or technical school.
On Tuesday, February 12th, KLTV's Gillian Sheridan will be reporting live from Austin during our evening newscasts, telling our viewers about the millions of dollars in free money, grants and scholarships available through the State of Texas to help pay for post-high school education for all Texas children.
During her live reports, there will be a live phone bank of college financial aid experts behind Gillian, ready to take calls on a toll free line from our viewers and answer questions about how parents can secure financial aid - in many cases, free money - to send their children to college. The phone banks will be up and running throughout the evening.
The toll-free number to call is 1-888-311-8881 for information.
