Five Guilty Of Misuse Of Social Security Numbers

United States Attorney John L. Ratcliffe announced today that five Mt. Pleasant men have pleaded guilty to misuse of Social Security Account numbers in the Eastern District of Texas.

Jose Dejesus Ramos-Castillo, 23, Jose Martinez-Ramirez, 32, Germahin Angino, 21, Jose Eduardo Arellano-Vasquez, 34, and Sergio Alejandro Claudio-Hernandez, 22, each pleaded guilty today before United States Magistrate Judge Caroline Craven.

According to information presented in Court, each of the defendants presented a Social Security Account card to Pilgrim's Pride Corporation for the purpose of obtaining and maintaining employment.  In each case, the individual knew that the number presented was not the Social Security Account number assigned to that individual.

Each defendant faces up to 5 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.00 at sentencing.  Sentencing dates have not been set.

This case is being investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Alan R. Jackson.
