Truck Carrying Chemicals Overturns, Spills Acid On Loop 323

Update - 12:10 pm: Tyler Hazmat has the spill contained at this time. The hazmat crew determined the spill is an alcohol solvent and a small container of acid. The total amount of chemical that leaked was six gallons. A representative of TCEQ was on the scene and was involved in the verification of that amount.

The truck is owned by Halliburton, and the driver was not injured.

11 am: KLTV 7 News has learned that a truck carrying two different types of chemicals has overturned on the East Northeast Loop 323 between Highway 14 and Highway 271.

Police have shutdown one lane of the northbound traffic, reportedly to clean up an acid spill. Hazmat crews are on the scene at this time, and drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible until the clean up is finished.

No injuries have been reported.

KLTV 7 News will bring you more info as we get it.
