Heart-Healthy Celebration With Miss Texas

Some East Texas girls had a heart-healthy celebration with Miss Texas, Saturday.  A "Girls Go Red Tiara and Tutu Party" at Lake Cherokee featured Miss Texas, food, dancing and lots of door prizes.

Friday was Go Red For Women Fay, a campaign started by the American Heart Association.  Heart attacks are the number one killer for women.  Saturday's Go Red For Girls party was planned to teach healthy lifestyle choices at a young age.

"We just played, and we ate, and I read a book to them, I danced with them," said Miss Texas 2007 Molly Hazlett.  "We danced together, we took pictures.  It was just a blast."

"We're trying to teach the children to make the right decisions about food, to eat healthy, to exercise and to care about their little hearts," said Alicia Nolte of Cherry Hill & Co.  Proceeds from Saturday's event will go toward American heart research.
