New Information On Fatal Domestic Stabbing

We're learning more about an East Texas couple, at the center of Wednesday's deadly stabbing. Authorities say it was a disturbance that went bad. Inside the home on Janan Drive, near Lake Tyler, they found evidence of a small struggle.

Once inside, 80 year old King Cornish was dead from a stab wound to the shoulder. His wife of 14 years, 49 year old Cynthia Cornish, called 911 Wednesday afternoon saying her husband was stabbed. A small child, Cynthia's grandson, was also in the house at the time of the stabbing...but was not injured. Authorities have yet to speak to the child about what he saw and say at this point they are waiting on more interviews before any action is taken.

"We know she is the one that actually stabbed him. We know that for a fact. What caused her to stab him is undetermined at this time," said Larry Wiginton, Lieutenant, Smith County Sheriff's Department, "We are going to take it and do it like we would any other homicide. until we get all the facts, put them together and determine what happened at that point."

Authorities say Cynthia Cornish is co-operating with the investigation. They say the next step is to interview her and find out what exactly happened.
