Flu Causes Class Cancellations In Two East Texas Schools

KLTV.com brought you news earlier this morning of Brownsboro ISD closing tomorrow due to the large number of students out with the flu.

Now, KLTV has learned that a Tyler school will be closing for the same reason.

St. Gregory Catholic School in Tyler will be closing tomorrow at 12:30pm and will remain closed through Monday because so many children have been out of classes due to the flu. School will resume on Tuesday as normal.

In Brownsboro, students will be released from their classes all day tomorrow and resume them on Monday. Fifteen percent of the students in that school district have been out in the last two days due to the flu. The school district made the decision to cancel classes tomorrow to allow time for the kids to recover and to reduce the chances of the flu spreading further.

Parents in all school districts are advised to keep their children home if they are showing signs of the flu.
