Two More Commissioners Reject Pay Raise

More changes regarding Smith County Commissioner's pay raises. Commisioner Bill McGinnis and Bobby Van Ness announced they too would be rejecting the rest of the pay raise approved by the court last July. McGinnis and Van Ness join Judge Joel Baker in this refusal of the next two phases of their pay raise.

"I feel that by taking this action and putting this issue to rest, I can fully concentrate on the critical issues facing us and do a better job of serving the citizens of my precinct and Smith County," said McGinnis.

Commissioner Fleming from the beginning did not accept the pay raise, so as of right now Commissioner Hampton is the only one left slated to receive the raise.
