KLTV.com has received exclusive photos from the scene of yesterday's dog fights. Words can't describe the cruelty that these dogs endured, and KLTV would not show these photos on our newscasts because of their graphic and disturbing nature. However, we decided to publish them to show the terrible results of dog fighting. Viewer discretion is advised.
As KLTV reported yesterday, officers arrived to the dog fight in Marion County unannounced, and more than a dozen suspects fled into the woods and were chased by police. Eleven people in total were arrested on the property. There, deputies found a dozen dogs bloodied, and with massive wounds from fighting.
A makeshift grave was found with many dogs buried in it haphazardly. Investigators say some of the dogs died recently, but they found bones from much earlier deaths.
12 suspects were arraigned this morning for their part in the ring. 10 women and 2 men face a third degree felony charge of engaging in organized criminal activity, and each faces a bond of $50,000.
The SPCA of Texas took the remaining dogs into custody and will care for them at its facility near Dallas.
