242 lbs. of Marijuana Seized In Smith County

A produce delivery driver finds himself behind bars after 242 lbs. of marijuana were allegedly found hidden in his tractor trailer.

It was 9:40 last night when a Smith County Sheriff's deputy pulled over Billy Joe Huff of Phoenix, Arizona. The deputy, who originally stopped Huff for numerous traffic violations, became suspicious after Huff's paperwork raise red flags.  The deputy received authorization to search Huff's trailer. Inside the marijuana was found hidden in lettuce.

Smith County officials believe the drugs were headed to the east coast, where the drugs are valued at one thousand dollars a pound.

Huff is being held on felony possession of marijuana charges. The Smith County Sheriff's department is currently working the DEA to further investigate Huff and where he was headed.
