Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebrations Kick Off Monday In East Texas

In Tyler, the 21st Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Rally kicks off at 9:30a.m., Monday on the Square.  If you can't catch that celebration, there will be a couple of marches in the surrounding area.

In Gladewater, a march will start downtown at 10:00 a.m.

In Longview, the march will begin at Broughton Park on MLK Boulevard, at 11:15 am.

Hallsville's celebration will begin on West Main Street at 5:15 p.m., Monday evening.  

Also, in honor of Dr. King, government and city offices will be closed in both Tyler and Longview. In Tyler, there will be no trash pick-up, Monday.  If your trash is normally collected Monday, it will be collected Tuesday.  If your trash is normally collected, Tuesday, this week, it will be collected, Wednesday.
