East Texas Woman Dies After More Than A Century Of Life

Back in 2004, KLTV was there as family and friends celebrated Lydia Jones's life, and her 106th birthday.  Thursday, her friend and family said they're still celebrating that life, remembering the nurturing mother who taught her children so many lessons over the years, and the grandmother who's life was a true inspiration.

"I just thank God for her because, right now, I'm living because of the things that she taught me about how to treat people, and how to love people," said her youngest daughter, Lorine Brooks.

Lydia Jones not only had 12 children herself, but she also lived to see those kids have 65 grand children, 168 great-grandchildren, 247 great-great grandchildren, and 21 great-great-great grandchildren.

Ms. Jones's funeral service will be held Thursday, January 24, at Sweet Union Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
