Local Woman Will Soon Make Her Big Screen Debut

Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes--big names in Hollywood, but there's one more name you should add to that list.

Introducing, Jennifer Wilkerson, a Tyler woman who said she will soon appear in the new movie, Mad Money, portraying a hotel clerk.  In the movie, she says Diane Keaton checks into her hotel, but, "I can't tell you anymore," she said.

So what better place to interview an on-screen hotel clerk than at a real hotel.  That's where Wilkerson, known locally as Jennifer Schell, revealed the acting bug bit her right here in East Texas.   "I actually started as an actress with Henderson Civic Theater.  I was a junior in high school."  Wilkerson said she later went to college on a theater scholarship.  She then signed with an agent while attending the University of North Texas.

Wilkerson said she worked professionally in Dallas and all over the country, eventually making her way to Los Angelos, landing part after part.  "I did The Comeback with Lisa Kudrow on HBO, I had a recurring role on ABC's, Invasion, and I have done a Lifetime Original Movie," she said.

Her latest endeavor was getting to act alongside Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes in the new movie, Mad Money--an experience she said was absolutely wonderful.

"Diane is fabulous.  She is exactly how you think she is--so witty, fun, great energy," she said.

She said she's grateful for the lessons she's learned and said staying true to herself, and keeping her head on her shoulders is what helped her accomplish her goals.  "Follow your heart," she said.

Wilkerson said she also has a new found respect for all of the hotel clerks in the world.  And you can look for her in the movie, Mad Money, which opens in theaters, Friday, January 18.
