Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office Looking For Deputy Impersonator

Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who is impersonating one of their deputies.

On January 16th a female motorist was pulled over by a black male in plain clothes, who claimed to be a deputy with the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office. He identified himself as 'Deputy Jackson' and was possibly driving a large full size Mercury or Ford with no visible markings and unknown license plates. The vehicle reportedly has red and blue dash lights. The Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office does not have a patrol deputy or plain clothes Deputy with that name or fitting that description.

If you encounter anyone who claims to be from the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office who is not plainly identified by their badge (which is round with a 7 point star in the center) please stay in a well-lit area, do not exit your car, and call 911 as soon as possible.
