Habitat for Humanity Turns Tyler Couple Into Homeowners

In February, a couple working with Habitat for Humanity on building a new home was anticipating the day they could move in.

With the help of Habitat and many volunteers, that dream is closer to becoming a reality.

The home of John and Ersula McMiller was the center of attention at a special dedication ceremony Sunday.

The couple put in over 500 volunteer hours with Habitat for Humanity to qualify for the new house. The McMiller's read a statement at the ceremony thanking Habitat for Humanity and all its volunteers for their support.

"Our prayer to god is that we live a long and happy life in our new home," said Ersula McMiller. "May god smile on god of you and may god bless you."

A division of Habitat for Humanity called "The ReStore" also raises money to help with building expenses.

The McMiller's say they're grateful to everyone, and can't wait to cook a meal in their new kitchen.
