The controversy over the use of water from Caddo Lake has turned into a benefit for the city of Longview. Developers of a Harrison County Power Plant, Entergy, have announced they will buy treated wastewater from Longview for the facilities steam generators. The sale will mean more than 220-thousand dollars each year for Longview. The deal was made possible after citizen protests and a restraining order which kept the city of Marshall from selling Caddo Lake water. The new plant should be operational by 2003.
