BIBLE-READING MARATHON KICKING OFF ON U-S CAPITOL GROUNDS

The entire Bible is being read aloud this week on the west lawn of the U-S Capitol.

Starting this morning and continuing non-stop until Thursday -- the National Day of Prayer -- hundreds of volunteers are taking turns reading everything from "In the beginning" through the last "Amen" of Revelation.

The Reverend Michael Hall, who's co-director of the Bible Reading Marathon, says the reading will go on day and night regardless of the weather.

Hall says there's no preaching or commentary -- just proclamation of what Christians can rally around -- the proclamation of Scripture.
