Vandals Hit Again; Third Time In A Month

Sinks were pulled off the wall of the fairway rest rooms and porcelain toilet seats were shattered at the Athens Country Club. Granite markers worth $900 each were pushed over on the cart paths. A car drove onto one of the greens and made donuts, the ruts so deep they will probably have to rebuild the entire green. The first incident was right before Christmas, another incident this past weekend, and then again Monday night.

"They have stole flags, we are not sure if they are keeping them for souvenirs or tossing them in a lake somewhere. All of this just keeps adding up for us a big price tag to replace," said General Manager, Cindy Davis, "We just want to find who is doing this so we can stop them. We will prosecute. Now it's not only mischief it's a felony because of the price tag that has gone with it."

The country club is offering a $500r reward on top of the crime stoppers reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. If you know anything please contact the Athens Police Department or Henderson County Crime Stoppers.
