Jurors Decide The Fate Of Convicted Murderer John Paul Penry

Jury selection began in Montgomery County Monday.

Jurors will decide if the Texas man should be sentenced to death a third time for murdering Pamela Mosely Carpenter of Livingston.

Defense attorneys argue that Penry is mentally retarded and should be exempt from the death penalty. The U.S. Supreme Court recently decided to let Penry's capital murder conviction stand. Now Montgomery County jurors must decide if Penry faces death or life in prison.
