Tyler Police Await DNA Testing in Sexual Assault Cases

Tyler police are waiting for DNA test results to determine whether they're looking for one or more suspects in three different sexual assault cases.

Investigators hope DNA from the crime scenes will match samples already in DPS's database. Authorities expect to have those results in four weeks.

In the meantime, police are beefing up their patrol efforts in South Tyler.

Over forty leads have come in since a sketch of the Wimbledon rapist was released to the public. Of those leads, several possible suspects have already been eliminated.
