Buddy Holly's Peggy Sue Signs Controversial Book In East Texas

Her name was made famous in the 1950's after Buddy Holly wrote a song about her. Saturday, Peggy Sue Gerron was in Tyler signing her controversial new book.

Whatever Happened to Peggy Sue is a memoir describing Gerron's life and relationship with the rock-and-roll icon.  Buddy Holly's widow, Maria Elena, claims the book is inaccurate and is threatening to sue Gerron and the Tyler-based publisher Togi-Entertainment. Yet, Gerron said Elena wants to keep personal information from coming out, such as Buddy wanting them both to get a divorce so they could be together.

"I thought it was time that we just had the real story," said Gerron.  "I hope everyone enjoys this story cause this is about me and what it's like to be thrown into something you had absolutely nothing to do with, and it is a gift.  It's just simply a gift."
