He buys dog food every week for his dogs but, never did an East Texas dog owner expect to find a foreign object in his dog food. Tonight, KLTV 7's LaKecia Shockley talks to one East Texan, who is warning dog owners to be on the lookout for unwanted items in your dog food.
William Sikorski is like most pet owners, he always makes sure his three dogs are well fed. A month ago, when William opened up some "Beef N' More" dog food, what he found was more indeed-- a piece of plastic, right there in the dog food. "I always mix the can dog food with the dry dog food and I found it merely by accident. It kind of upset me when I found it," said Sikorski. William contacted Beef N' More, which is based right here in Texas. He got a refund check in the mail, but says, that's not enough. "It's more than a check, it's the point that something that was foreign was found in the dog food which, doesn't need to be there. I want to be sure that the company is doing their part so it won't happen again."
For now, Sikorski is buying a different brand of food for his dogs, and asking pet owners everywhere to watch out. "Always check the dog food prior to giving it to your dogs, regardless of whether it's can or dry dog food, because that could make a difference."
