Buckeyes Honored By Army In Last Game Together

Saturday, Gilmer's Justin Johnson and David Snow played in the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Tuesday, the Army came by Gilmer to say thank you.

The Army honored both players and their families at city hall.

Gilmer was the only school in the country with two players named to the game, and the Buckeyes said getting one more game together was the best part of the weekend.

"It was great to play with Bus (Johnson) one last time," Snow said. "To play in the state championship, then play in this game, it was just really awesome."

"It was emotional for me," Johnson agrees, "getting to play my last game with David. We've been together forever. I've run behind David ever since I've been a running back."

"It was emotional, but it was also fun."

With both players headed to the Big 12, they say they'll stay friends and root for each other except during Texas-Oklahoma weekend. Johnson will be a Sooner, while Snow is going to Austin.

With the smallest enrollment in District 17-5A, and really across the entire classification, Lindale could use that as an excuse for a sub-par season. But under defensive coordinator, turned head coach Chris Cochran, that won't be the case.
