CASA Of East Texas Appoints New Executive Director

A Texas woman is hoping her decades of non-profit service will help an East Texas organization grow.  Thursday morning, CASA of East Texas, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, appointed its new Executive Director Patty Garner.  Garner previously served as Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Easter Seals of Greater Northwest Texas.  Garner says right now is a very exciting time for CASA.

"This is a time when CASA plans to recruit new volunteers who support the children of
East Texas," said Garner.  "They are children that need these services and those volunteers are really the key to helping the kids, so we are really excited about adding more to our members."  Garner replaces Patty Suggs who served as CASA's interim manger for five months.  CASA's mission is to provide volunteer advocates for abused and neglected children.
