The campaign trail weaved back through Tyler, Wednesday.
John Sharp, the Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor announced he received the endorsement from the largest law enforcement organization in the state. Sharp made the announcement while touring the Tyler Police Department.
He said he wants police departments statewide to pool their purchasing power to cut costs for equipment like dashboard cameras. "If you go out and buy that camera for Euless, Texas, or Amarillo, Texas, it's going to be $4,500 or $5,000. The state can buy that a heck of a lot cheeper because we're buying thousands of them at a time instead of 5 or 6 at a time."
