HENDERSON, TX (KLTV) - Odell Poovey not only experienced some of the greatest sea battles of World War II, he recorded them for history.

As a naval photographer assigned to carriers in the South Pacific, Poovey was everywhere on ship recording battles and attacks. He also flew numerous hours to record sea battles from the air.

Poovey returned home to serve his city of Henderson as Mayor He still has hundreds of priceless photos of sea action in World War II.
