Hiway 80 Rescue Mission Feeds Dozens of East Texans With A Holiday Feast

It was an East Texas feast fit for kings and queens.

Dozens of East Texans packed the dining hall at the Highway 80 rescue Mission today. Each year the rescue mission offers free holiday meals to the less fortunate.

Volunteers piled up plates with lots of turkey, dressing and other holiday fixin's. One East Texas family said that giving back to the community is what it's all about.

"It makes me feel good inside that I get to help out,"said Jonathan Bunt. "This is what Christmas really is to us, to give back to the community and those who are less fortunate."

Hiway 80 will be holding Christmas dinner again tomorrow from 11am to 5 pm.  Also, the Longview Salvation Army will hold their annual Christmas dinner tomorrow at 5 pm.
