East Texans Fly Home For The Holidays

Some Christmas vacations are over and others are just beginning.  You didn't see as much chaos and stress, just lots of hugs and happy reunions.

"I'm just so excited," said Claudia Norton, here visiting family in East Texas.  "This is the first time I've been with Nick and his mom for a long time. it's great to be in Texas instead of Utah for Christmas, it's great."

"I was in a big hurry to get back home to my wife."

"Our family will all be together tomorrow for dinner and we're going shopping the day after Christmas," said Dodie Hankins, who was flying to see her daughter.

Those who flew in Monday were full of joy and thanks to be home for the holidays safely.

"Everyone's been really nice," said Hankins.  "Everyone's been in pretty good spirits."

"We're so grateful and we're ready to have a great Christmas."

Tyler Pounds Airport officials said Christmas Day is actually the busiest travel day for them this holiday season.
