East Texas Fire Fighter Retires After Serving Community For Over 20 Years

He's been serving our community with the Longview fire department for more than 20 years. Today, an East Texas firefighter is retiring just in the nick of time for Christmas. Gary Webb, also known as "Paw Paw" has been a Longview fire driver for the last nineteen years. He started out his first three years fighting fires in Eas Texas. Webb tells KLTV even though he's going to miss working with his fellow fire fighters. There isn't a better time to retire than around holiday's. "This is going to be the best Christmas present ever. It's my last shift and I get to spend Christmas and not have to worry about that phone call," said Gary Webb. Webb officially retires at the end of his shift at 7a.m. Monday morning and of course we wish him a happy retirement.
