CARDINAL LAW SAYS HE'LL KEEP WORKING TO ADDRESS ABUSE SCANDAL

Despite demands that he step down as archbishop of Boston, Cardinal Bernard Law says he'll "work tirelessly" to address the scandal over pedophile priests.

But Law told Sunday worshipers at Boston's Roman Catholic cathedral that he's aware of "the anger and broken trust that many feel toward me." Law and other American cardinals are to meet with Pope John Paul Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss how to deal with the scandal.

He said the Vatican needs to understand that it's a problem of September eleventh proportions. In a Sunday ceremony at the Vatican, the pope told 20 new priests that God expects them to be holy and adhere to a "higher loyalty."
