Most Wanted Man Leads Police on Chase

A man on Jacksonville's "most wanted" list led officers on a high speed chase Saturday. A Jacksonville Police officer spotted 27-year-old Jeffrey David Rogers driving in the northern part of the city around 5 a.m.

Then, police say Rogers took off on a chase that went all the way to Bullard, to Lake Jacksonville, then back into the city of Jacksonville itself.

The Smith and Cherokee County Sheriff's departments and Bullard Police joined Jacksonville in that pursuit, which ended when a Smith County unit forced Rogers' car to a stop.

Rogers faces forgery charges and counts from the pursuit. Bond was set Monday at $75,000.
