Longview Police Increase Patrols for Summer

Longview Police are already stepping up patrols for the up-coming summer in areas that they have had traditional problems in the past.

With every summer, comes gatherings at area parks with muscle cars and sometimes trouble. Police say each summer south Longview, particularly around High and Mobberly streets, and in parks like Teague and Braughton, cars and people congregate.

They've had problems with occasional violence and businesses regularly complain.  Longview police hope the increased patrols will help them curtail a problem they've had in the past, when the temperature heats up.

There is already a police presence on Longview streets, and a patrol of the Teague Park area showed that young people were already beginning to gather at the park.
