Bike Rodeo Gives Kids Lessons in Safety

As kids start heading outdoors for the summer, more of them will be taking to the streets to ride their bikes.

Tyler police officers and the YMCA prepared  a few kids Saturday by challenging them with a bicycle course. But before they could ride, officers checked the kids' bikes for any potential hazards.

The young bikers were also fitted for free helmets and took them home with them.

If you missed Saturday's bike rodeo, there are two more rodeos on the way: One on May 4th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and another on June 8, at Sam's Club in Tyler.
