Former Gregg County Jailers Sold Inmates Tobacco and Prescription Drugs

Today, the Gregg county sheriff  told us about the incredible. and highly illegal scheme that landed three of his jailers behind bars. Last week, Christopher Sanders, was arrested. Deputies say he sold tobacco and an unidentified prescription drug to inmates a criminal investigation was launched on Monday. Then, jailers Johnny Weldon Adair and Jerry Michelle Parvin were taken in, accused of selling tobacco to inmates. All three jailers worked in the Gregg county north jail facility. Gregg county sheriff Maxey Cerliano says the inmates receiving contraband had help from the outside to pay jailers. "A family or friend will meet the employee at a remote location and exchange money for what they did on the premise. Obviously, it's difficult for the inmates to have cash money so, they facilitate it in another manner,"said Sheriff Cerliano.   Sheriff Cerliano said the arrests show this type of behavior will not be tolerated and employees who do violate rules and break the law will go to jail.
