Man's Bible Only Thing To Survive Fire

Fire completely gutted David Grier Jr's trailer home. A home that was his great-grandmothers, and Grier himself had recently renovated.

"This place had a lot of memories to it," Grier said.

Now, memories and the clothes on his back are just about all that's left.  Yet through the rising smoke and among the ash, one thing did catch Grier's attention.

Out of all the things, Grier's bible survived, left open and still readable from Genesis through Revelations.

"The only thing that got burned was the brim around the outside," Grier said.  "I thought this has to be some kind of miracle for a bible to survive from the heat and everything else."

A sign, a message from above? Grier said he narrowly escaped himself before the furnace ignited.

"if we would have stayed here about 5 to 10 minutes later we would have been caught trapped in it," said Grier.

Call it divine intervention, luck, or whatever, Grier said it's given him strength and hope to rebuild and move forward.

"That someone's watching out over me 24/7 now and that I'm really not alone in this world anymore," said Grier.
