Tyler Police Officer Resigns After Being Arrested For DWI

An undercover narcotics officer resigns from the Tyler Police Department after being arrested for DWI. Police say Brian "Scott" Bradley, 35, was arrested last Thursday after hitting a traffic pole in his unmarked police vehicle while driving drunk. They say he was not on duty at the time; but was driving a visiting officer from Los Angeles to his hotel, after dinner and drinks at a Tyler restaurant.

Police say Bradley was booked into the Smith County Jail that night and put on administrative leave. He has since bonded out and resigned from the D.E.A. Task Force.

Officer Don Martin with the Tyler Police Department, says, "he has received numerous awards from the federal government for the work that he did with them on the DEA Task Force...from my understanding he was a very good officer and we're deeply saddened that this happened."

Bradley had been with the department for about four and a half years. The Los Angeles officer who was with him was in Tyler testifying for a recent trial.
