The Town Of Tatum Looks For A 3-Peat Championship in High School Football

It's football "championship fever" in the city of Tatum as the eagles get ready to suit up and battle "Farmersville" in hopes to win a third state championship. It's all going down in Corsicana this weekend. KLTV 7's, LaKecia Shockley traveled to Tatum to see just how eager...eagles fans are getting for the big game. When you drive through the town of Tatum, it's no surprise that eagle spirit is everywhere."3-peat that's the big word around here is 3-peat," said Karen Mcllwain. "Oh yeah, we're all excited! We're going to win this year all the way," said Stephanie Francek, a senior at Tatum high school. If Tatum wins they'll be the first 3-peat champions from an East Texas team since Big Sandy in the 70's. And for the folks of Tatum, it's no other place they'd rather be than at the big championship game. "This is something that you never take for granted. Every championship--ever win that we get-- is sweet," said Mcllwain. "We'll be down on the track field with the football players and when we score a touchdown we'll blow that horn and holla and scream," said eagle fan Michael Morton. With all the spirit in the community backing the football team, the Tatum eagles hope they can soar once again and bring home another championship.
