Tyler Police released a sketch Wednesday of the alleged South Tyler rapist. It's the best lead police have so far to help find the man who may have committed not only one rape, but also an attempted rape earlier this month.
The rape victim's husband helped compile this artist drawing of the suspect today. Also, a cap and rape kit collected from the Wimbledon attack yesterday and other evidence from the Hollytree attack back on April 8th were sent off to the DPS lab in Dallas Wednesday.
But Police still need your helping finding the black male suspect who's described as 25-35 years old and 5'7" - 5'9" tall weighing about 180 pounds.
Also his hair's cut short. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a gray t-shirt and long black shorts.
"We have devoted three detectives working full time and we have three additional ones assisting them," says Police Chief Gary Swindle. "We are not stopping. We are looking under every bush, if you will, looking for answers to this and I am confident the Tyler police officers will solve this case."
