Volunteers Try To Save Historic Home

Volunteers in Longview are banding together to try and save a historic home.  The Rucker-Campbell Mansion on Center Street was built in 1872 and was owned by a family, which included the first sheriff of Longview.  Until recently, the house was recognized as a historic landmark, but decades of decay have taken a toll on the structure.  Area preservation members are now trying to raise money to renovate and save the home.

The group says it hopes to raise around $200,000 dollars to repair the mansions roof, electrical and plumbing systems.
