East Texas School Adopts Dozen Salvation Army Angels

KLTV 7 has been telling you about it for weeks, the Salvation Army Angel Tree, which helps hundreds of East Texas children have a bright Christmas.  One East Texas school heard the call for help and and jumped in full force.

In a classroom competition, more than 700 students at Holloway Middle School in Whitehouse raised $2,400.  Last night, they used that money to buy gifts at Target for a dozen angels. Teachers also participated raising $500.

"As a kid I did this with my family, and I hope these kids go home next year when they are not with our campus, and they will go with their families as a tradition and just want to help and be thankful for what they have," said 5th Grade Teacher Tonya Turnage.  This is the second year Holloway Middle School raised money for the Salvation Army angels.
