Tree Farm Gathers Trees For The Troops

Three-hundred Christmas trees are on their way to Iraq.  The Trail Creek Tree Farm in Lindale works with a program, which provides Christmas trees to families stationed on military bases around the world.  Trail Creek is one of only four tree farms participating with the Trees for Troops program in the state.  For some, giving a tree is just another way to say thank you to the men and women serving their country.

"That's just a little something to let us tell them, hey, we're think about you, we appreciate what you're doing for us, and thank you very much," said Trail Creek Larry Hatch.  Hatch has been involved with the program for three years now.

"I think the more we can do to support our troops, the better it's going to be and a Merry Christmas to all of them," said tree donator Cara Harting.  If you'd like more information on the Trees for Troops program, click the Know More on 7 link on the homepage.
