Kilgore Man Arrested in Baseball Bat Attack

A Kilgore man is behind bars after being arrested for two counts of aggravated assault in an attack with a baseball bat.

Longview police say 19 year old Jeremie Mcgowan got into an argument with an ex-girlfriend in Kilgore over a child custody issue.

The girlfriend left with a friend and went to Longview, but Police say McGowan followed and caught up with them at a convenience store.

Police say he then went into a fit of rage and began smashing car windows trying to get at his       ex- girlfriend.  Victims received only minor injuries from broken glass. Mcgowan remains in the Gregg county jail on 25 thousand dollars bond.
