Van Ignites in Flames Near Gas Tanks

A car fire broke out a little to close to home for one Tyler gas station Saturday morning.

A van that was not starting caught fire after the driver poured gasoline into the carborater and tried to jump start the engine. The burning van was just a hundred feet away from gas tanks near the intersection of Vine and Houston streets.

Firefighters extinguished the flames in time, but lost the van. No one was injured. Firefighters are still investigating to find the exact cause.
