Gearing Up For The Big Game

People have been scrambling to find places to watch the Cowboys/Packers game. Many are flooding to local bars and restaurants. Today KLTV Spoke to local businesses about Cowboy Preparation.

"We got a lot of Cowboy memorabilia as you can see. It's just a man's barber shop. Not too many of them left," said Rick Walston, Owner, All-Star Barber Shop.

Rick Walston is used to talking sports but Thursday night he's giving Cowboys fans something to talk about.

"We are going to have the game outside tonight. We just want people to come by and have some popcorn watch the game and see my shop."

Rick set up his big screen tv outside in his parking lot so residents can come watch.

"We are going to have a little fire because its going to be a little cold. We hope to have a good turnout," said Rick.

For other places the game also means big business like newly opened Lonestar Pizza and Burgers on Loop 323.

"My crew is hyped up and we're ready," Steve McDonald, Owner, Lonestar Pizza & Burger "We are really expecting a big crowd we had people calling to reserve the table we aren't reserving tables and we are having a pizza buffet. We do not wish to cross the alcohol line. We never will. We are wanting families with kids."

Down the street at Daniel Boone's they changed to satellite for the big game and moved a big screen tv into one of their dining rooms.

"The phones started ringing people wanting to know what the deal is," said Dan Boone Owner Daniel Boone's, "Hopefully get some folks that have never been here in the past and eat our food and hopefully enjoy and have some repeat customers coming to see us."

At the Holiday Inn Express, they're not only breaking out the big tv they're changing the menu one night only to football-friendly fare.

"We are going to have it in here on our big screen and also we have an extra tv in our dining room and we are going to allow guest to set in there and watch the game and order from our limited menu," said Suzanne Beall Director of Sales & Marketing at the Holiday Inn on South Broadway.
