Tyler Prepares to Sing the Blues

Vendors are already setting up for the Texas Blues Festival, which kicks off at noon Saturday.

Six blues bands will be taking the stage in downtown Tyler... The headliner Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets hit the stage at 10:30 at night.

Part of the downtown square will be reserved for Harley Davidson parking only, and East Texas cuisine will be available on the square for festival go-ers.

In the past, the festival has brought as many as 2500 people into Tyler.

"The blues festival offers an opportunity for people to see the work we've down downtown. We have about 2500 people come from multi-state areas," said Kathey Comer with Main Street Tyler Texas.

Theevent's organizers, Heart of Tyler and Main Street Tyler, say the've had blues fans from Oklahoma, Dallas, Louisiana and South Dakota call them for more information.

If you'd like to attend the blues festival it runs Saturday from noon to midnight in downtown Tyler. Tickets cost $15 at the gate.
