Court Ups Sex Offenders Sentence for Repeated Offenses

A Smith County sex offender now faces twenty five years in jail after violating terms of his probation.

Garrett Gibb had been serving ten years probation for paying a young girl to have sex with an older man and woman and videotaping it. He was also charged with child pornography. Gibb's probation was revoked Friday morning. He now faces jail time because he has committed at least nine sex offenses including lewd acts in public since his probation.

Gibb pled guilty in state court today to all nine new offenses.. Judge Louis Gohmert sentenced Gibb to 17 years in prison for the sexual performance of a child charge, and 8 years for pornography.
