Armed Robbers Could Be Connected To Several East Texas Crimes

Longview police are looking for two robbers that they believe are connected to several armed robberies. Police say the suspects are considered armed and dangerous. The most recent robbery happened at Carlito's restaurant in Longview, shortly after midnight Thanksgiving morning. Police say the cook of the restaurant was outside by the back door, when two masked robbers forced him inside and shot him in the stomach.

The robbers then put a gun to the owners head and forced him to open the safe. The robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, business checks, and company credit cards. Police say the robbers are two black males who fit the description of suspects in similar cases. "The suspects descriptions and the fact that they had weapons match. One of the suspects was at the Sonic drive in on south High Street, where they actually fired a weapon in the air. No one was shot but there's several similarities to these cases,"said Sergeant Shaun Pendleton of the Longview police department. Right now, police have no leads on the suspects but they are working in conjunction with Tyler police department on similar robberies.

The victim in the shooting was released from the hospital and is doing fine.
