Tyler School Board to Interview Eight Superintendent Search Firms

The Tyler School Board is opting to interview all eight superintendent search firm candidates before settling on one firm.

After some discussion at a special meeting of the Tyler School Board Thursday night, board members reached a decision to split up interviews between two nights. Tentatively, the search firms will make presentations April 22nd and 23rd.

Six of the firms wanting to help Tyler find a new superintendent are from Texas, the other two are from out of state.

The search comes in response to current superintendent Donald Gentry's announcement that he'll retire this June.
