Tyler Drug Bust Leads to Three Arrests And More Evidence

Tyler Police say they found more than 15 pounds of marijuana, plus several grams of cocaine during a drug bust on Meadow Lane.

31-year-old Gene J-Johnson Brown and 35-year-old Kolanda Johnson were arrested on drug possession charges at the home where Tyler Police say drugs were being sold.

Tyler's Vice Squad secured a warrant to search the home Thursday morning. Once inside they found pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, thousands in cash, 10 pit bulls, and, of course, the drugs.

"When the warrant is executed they may not have that much in the way of stuff on the property," says Officer Chris Moore with the Tyler Police Dept. "But this is a significant break all the way around what appears to be stolen property may lead to uncovering of several burglaries."

Also a 2-year-old boy was taken from the home and placed into the custody of child protective services. Police say he and those inside were living in deplorable living conditions.

Neither Brown nor Johnson's bond had been set Thursday night on the drug charges. Tyler police say the drug suspects could face more charges if the property recovered is in fact stolen. Weapons charges are also pending. Another woman was also arrested at the house, but on separate warrants not related to the drug bust.
