East Texas Chef Cooks Thanksgiving Dinner For East Texas Families

Right now, you're probably cranking up your ovens, getting ready for those Thanksgiving spreads. But as KLTV 7's LaKecia Shockley tells us one East Texas chef is not just cooking for one family but many.

If it needs smashing, grinding, or just plain taste testing Ronald Porter is your man. "I think it needs just a little more pepper and a little more salt and it's a done deal,"said Chef Porter. He's a residence chef by day and personal family chef by night, whose whipping up Thanksgiving dinners by himself. "Rachel Ray has nothing on me-- "30 minute Meals"--please-- try to cook for 50 people by yourself.  I'm a busy...busy boy! There's no time to sleep and no time to play,"said Chef Porter. Whether it's "Green Bean Amadine" or "Beef Tenderloin" Chef Porter's says the key to cooking is the seasoning. "You really need to season your food and you should taste it. That's the most important thing about the holidays, people don't season their food a lot," said Chef Porter. "At the end of the day I think it's all about being together and happiness." Happiness that not only comes with Thanksgiving but with good food.
